Episode 2 – WE ARE MONEY CLOSING – Zoltan Rendes

As Balazs said in the first episode: I can’t put a price tag on your survival, but some people surely can and will. According to these people, everything and everybody has a price. We can put a price tag on my opinion too: mine is 2 cents. How much is yours?

“Money makes the world go round” to quote the lyrics of the musical “Cabaret”, but does it really now? Is this the right direction to go around? Outdated financial, social, and energy trading systems, lagging regulations and laws, clueless politics, and so on and on. Inflation, increasing prices, trade wars, unstable markets – all the results of the insecurities of the so-called “BIG MONEY”. To simplify the equation: big money moves politics, politics make decisions and laws and regulations and put a price tag on your bread and even your faith, so politics move the markets. Traditionally in the direction of big money. So what happened to this well-oiled machine this year? Everything supposed to be business as usual, right? Big money moves politics, politics are moving the markets, increasing the price of your bread (and eggs), and deciding if your faith goes on sale now or not. Also, they kind of “cancelled climate change”, so basically they put a price tag on the lives of 8-10 million people for this year and who knows how much for the years to come.

And now even big money sees that it’s not the right direction. We are burning billions from GDPs and markets every day. Forecasts show recession and doom. But hey, you out there, you, the big money people, I just have a couple of questions:

– You say big money goes into the “sure things”, like fossil fuels and defense, so can you tell me what went wrong this year?

– And when you had enough of counting your losses, will you reconsider that we need to change the way we think about investments, markets, financial systems, energy, politics, regulations, and all that jazz?

– Will you start doing the right thing? There is a lot of money to be made on the right side of history as well.

Have you heard about the facts that the planet’s very core is slowing down, the current of Antarctica and the Gulf Stream too? Isn’t that symbolic? Even the lobsters are moving North, just saying. For me, it seems nature is putting a price tag on your big money.

So that’s my two cents for you, if you want to put a price tag on it… but be very careful putting a price tag on human lives. Why? Well, empires, economies, industries crumbled to dust or got destroyed in the blink of an eye throughout our history, but WE ARE HUMANS and one thing we do: WE SURVIVE. My bet is still on humans, where is yours?
